Well, this was the VERY FIRST song ever written (ever) by the song-writing duo (Roland) COLON and (Sal) GERACI ... way back in 1966, just after they met. It remained an a cappella party-favorite through the years and after decades of time had passed, the Lads finally got around to addressing their unfinished business ... by recording an album called "UNFINISHED BUSINESS" in 2020 (while in COVID-19 Lock Down) ... it was then that it was decided that the new collection (of OLD songs) should open with their very first composition - the one that started it all ... thus, "Somebody New" was finally recorded (in 2020 in case you missed that the first time) ... They used "retro" techniques to make the song sound as if it were actually recorded in the mid-to-late 1960's! That's right: They "dumbed it down" ... forcing it to have the sound of Mom's 1966 AM Car Radio! Oh, and don't forget the handclaps ... they didn't!
